| Fiat 500 enters into Brazil |
Fiat 500 in early October will be introduced for sale in Brazil. At the same time it will start selling also in Colombia, Panama and Barbados, Jamaica and the car will be presented before the end of 2009. In South America, the new Fiat is already present in Argentina, Chile, Curacao, Sain Martin, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Paraguay. Fiat 500 sold in Brazil in the Sport and Lounge versions, is equipped with a 1.4 16v engine with 100 hp, coupled with a mechanical 6 speed manual gearbox or a sequential, automatic 5-speed gearbox Dualogic. The drive unit and suspension have been adapted to the local market. A new injection system is calibrated, adjusted to 22% ethanol content in gasoline sold in Brazil. For the same reason has been changed a few components that have direct contact with that particular fuel. In view of the Brazilian state of roads were also made changes in the suspensions, increasing the flexibility of the springs and shock spring.
